There’s nothing worse than feeling unhappy with your own smile. If you look at photos of yourself, or catch sight of your smile in a mirror and don’t feel happy with what you’re seeing, it could be because you have what’s known as a ‘gummy smile’.

What is the treatment process?

Caused by teeth with a smaller visible surface area, the smile appears gummy because there is more of the gum visible when smiling. We can rectify this with crown lengthening, which helps reveal more of the teeth’s natural surface area.

In some cases, crown lengthening might also be necessary in order to fit a restoration such as a bridge or a dental crown. The treatment can usually be carried out in just one appointment, and we’ll use local anaesthetic, so you don’t feel a thing. I had a dental clean, while the hygienist was working on me I already knew I was going to come back for another clean. Hygienist recommended coming back after 6 months I will definitely will be back. The atmosphere is good, calm and clean. They accommodated me even though I was running a bit late. Nice interior and smells good too. They had a TV on the ceiling too 😅 which I thought was really helpful for distraction.
